US East & Gulf Coasts Port Disruption: Force Majeure Declared
Dear Valued Customers,
We regret to inform you that Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd. (“ONE”) has declared force majeure for all shipments in and out of the United States East and Gulf Coasts, due to the ILA (International Longshoremen's Association) strike (the “Strike/Lockout”) which began on 12:01 a.m. ET of October 01, 2024.
During the Strike/Lockout, the ILA will not handle or move any containers or cargo at affected East and Gulf Coasts; cargo coming to, leaving, or moving within the affected East and Gulf Coasts will be subject to rail stoppage and, among other impacts, marine terminals are set to close.
Delay and disruptions will also be expected for transportation of all cargo due to challenges in berthing vessels, because of terminal metering, and the impact of Hurricane Helene. ONE was unable to reasonably avoid or prevent the Strike/Lockout. ONE reserves all rights under ONE’s Bill of Lading Terms including under Clauses 17 and 18.
ONE is closely monitoring developments and will provide updates to ensure you remain informed of any changes to your service. ONE will further update if an estimated duration of the Strike/Lockout is provided by ILA or USMX.
If you have any immediate concerns or require additional information,
